TWINED RAG RUG—Rags to Rugs
Date: TBD, let us know of your interest
Instructor: Judy Jeffares
Fee: $64, plus $20 materials fee for frame
Location: Triple Brick Museum
Learn a traditional method of making a rag rug. Create your own twined rug using a very old method called twining, which is made on a hand made frame. Bring scissors, needle, thread and your selection of fabric. Old sheets are excellent for this project. A full-size flat sheet in white or crème is adequate for the warp and two queen-size flat sheets, your choice of color (solids or prints), will be sufficient for the weft

GOURD ART—Gorgeous Gourds
Date: TBD, let us know of your interest
Instructor: Judy Jeffares
Fee: $48, plus $15 materials fee
Location: Triple Brick Museum
Gourd has been used for centuries for utensils and expressions of art. We will turn a “sow’s ear into a silk purse” by turning the lowly gourd into a beautiful “keepsake box” or bowl. Piece shown is sample; you will create your own design choosing from various stains, dyes and embellishments. We will be using small power tools (don’t be intimidated).
